While walking the beach in Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve, one of the last things I expected to see was a snowy egret walking back and forth inside the surf line. It was fishing and grabbing some unlucky snails. What a perfect end to my afternoon along this wild stretch of coast near San Diego.
