While in Turkey, I was lucky enough to spot a pair of white storks nesting on a column. There are three main kinds of columns, Doric, Ionic, and Corinthian. I chose a well preserved Ionic column which I saw later that day. The circle of the capital seems to capture the cycle of life found in the hope of a nesting pair of storks.
