It was about an hour after the solar eclipse in 2017. We had had the perfect viewing spot, isolated on top of a hill with no people or buildings in sight. I was thinking of little else until we drove past some wild sunflowers on the small dirt road. When we got to the second or third grouping, I had to stop and grab some photos. The big surprise is that there were goldfinch flitting among the flowers. What a perfect setting for my favorite bird!
