"The eyes are windows into the soul." For me, I find that saying especially true for animals. In this painting I wanted to showcase those windows of the Forest. Choosing the six species to represent the forest was a challenge. One could certainly argue with my selection. But, for balance, composition, and variety, I thought these would fit well. Downy woodpecker, red fox, blue jay, whitetail, great horned owl, and bobcat.
